Visit the locals and stay at village homes with Bulgarian families

Arrive Sofia. If time allows sightseeing of Sofia. Dinner in a national style restaurant with live folk music. (D)

Breakfast
Morning: Sofia – visit The Central Hali (Tzentralni Hali) covered market for food. It’s a wonderful place for shopping delicious food, or just sitting in the café, watching the people or talk with friends. Visit the open air market Zhenski Pazar ( Women’s market ) where you can buy fresh foodstuffs, vegetables, fruits, flowers, cheap clothes, household goods.
12: 30 depart Sofia for Koprivshtitza. (2 hours drive).Arrive Koprivshtitza. 2: 30 pm.
3 pm starts the cooking lesson.

Dag 3
Breakfast Morning: sightseeing Koprivshtitza. The delightful ethnographic village of Koprivshtitsa is huddled in the mountain folds and is famous for its National Revival architecture (18th – 19th century). There is no other Bulgarian town that boasts such a large number of museum houses and monuments, nearly 400 in number, most of which have been restored to their original appearance. The Koprivshtitsa style house is characterised by exquisite painted facades and sunny verandas, with carved ceilings and stylish European furnishings. At 3 pm starts our cooking lesson.

Breakfast.
Depart Koprivshtitza for Kalofer. En route visit the wine cellar at Strarosel. Wine Testing. Visit the Thracian Temple at Starosel. Arrive Kalofer.
3 pm stars our cooking lesson.
Dinner. Overnight Kalofer. (B D + wine testing )

Breakfast.
The beautiful village Kalofer is situated at the footsteps of Central Balkan National Park. You will be stunned by its beauty – surrounded by vivid mountain forests and peaks and gorgeous river valleys. Kalofer is famous for its beautiful monastery and churches, for its typical crafts making. Most of the local people grow the world’s famous oil-yielding rose. In Kalofer you will taste the Jam of Roses and Rose Rakiya ( rakiya is a kind of Bulgarian national brandy).
In Kalofer we will hike along an eco path in Central Balkan, examining local flowers and herbs. This specialist walk- The White Eco Path – received the Conde Nast Traveller Award for best eco-destination in the world in 2005 and is a highlight to this beautiful area.
We make picnick lunch in the Balkan mountain. The guests participate at making the picknic lunch – kebapche (minced meat rolled and grilled ) and kyouftentze (meat ball). We make mekitzi (mekitzi is a traditional Bulgarian deep fried dish made of kneaded dough ).

Breakfast.
Morning: Depart Kalofer for Arbannasy village. En route we stop at Kazanlak, that is situated at the Valley of Roses. We visit the breathtaking Thracian Tomb at Kazanlak, UNESCO Site. We cross the Balkan mountain via Shipka Pass. We arrive at the Medieval town of Veliko Tarnovo with fabulous houses, sites and museums. We transfer to the nearby village Arbanassy. ) Arbanassy is 3 kilometers away from Veliko Tarnovo ).
3 pm starts our cooking lesson.

Dag 7
Morning visit the open air market at Veliko Tarnovo. Visit Samovodene street- famous for crafts shops. We come back to Arbanassy and visit the Nativity Church with its breathtaking frescos and icons.

Breakfast. Depart Arbannasy village for Sofia Airport. (3 hours drive ).
