Day 1: ARRIVAL – PHNOM PENH (-/L/D)

Arrive Phnom Penh International Airport by morning flight then you will be met by your experienced guide and transfer to hotel for check in (early check in depends on room availability).

After lunch at local restaurant, you visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (also known as S21), ironically a former school, located in a quiet Phnom Penh suburb, this was the infamous Khmer Rouge prison / torture centre. Once you have gained an initial insight of the brutality of the Khmer Rouge regime you will be driven 15km from Phnom Penh to visit the ‘Killing Fields’. This is where Toul Sleng prisoners were forcibly marched and then executed; it is now a memorial site located in a beautiful tranquil setting. Then you will be taken to the Russian Market, an excellent place for picking up souvenirs. There are stalls selling some very good Khmer antique reproductions, other stalls piled ceiling high with wonderful colorful silks, incredibly cheap clothing stalls, and of course those stalls selling pirated CDs, DVDs, and computer software. (Think about your country custom regulation before buying them as you will lost it when you arrive home.)

Day 2: PHNOM PENH – COOKING CLASS (B/L/D)

This morning your guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer to cooking school. You arrive at cooking school then go to the local Kandal Market where your instructor will tell and show you Cambodian fruits, vegetables and spices.

It is time to take a tuk-tuk ride to the cooking class. Arrival at the Cooking School where a refreshing lemon juice drink and towel is waiting for you.

Here the instructor will present a cookery demonstration of the dishes that you are going to prepare! Each student will receive a booklet with the recipes of the course. Then it is time to put your hands on the cooking utensils. Each student has his own cooking station and wok. Assisted by your instructor you will learn and experience the culinary technique of Cambodian cuisine. For lunch, two not too difficult dishes are waiting to be prepared by you!
Now you can taste and enjoy your own culinary creation.
This afternoon, you will be treated to a fun cyclo tour, a traditional mode of transport. Your first stop will be the terracotta red National Museum which offers a charming setting for a comprehensive collection of Khmer artifacts. After this you will visit the nearby Royal Palace, on the banks of the mighty Mekong River. Inside the Palace walls you will be treated to the Throne Hall, the Chan Chaya Pavilion, and the King’s residential quarters. You will then move onto the neighbouring Silver Pagoda, so named as it is claimed its floor is made up of over 4,000 silver tiles!

Note: Wearing decent cloths is needed to visit Royal Palace. Please wear comfortable shoes which are easy to take off and on. There will be some extra charge on camera at The Royal Palace.

Day 3: PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG THOM (B/L/D)

Transfer from Phnom Penh to Kampong Thom province (around 3 hours). On the way you will visit Sambo Prei Kuk, one of the most beautiful pre-Angkorian temples in Cambodia.

In the afternoon you can explore local nearby village to learn how to make Cambodian noodle (Num Ban Chok). It is one of the favorites for locals and tourists in Cambodia. They combine beautifully with the noodles and the texture of the vegetables: morning glory, cucumber, sprouts, and string beans and to spice it up, add a little chili. The cooking takes half of the day and you will enjoy it at your dinner.

Day 4: KAMPONG THOM -SIEM REAP (B/L/D)

After breakfast you start your day with your private vehicle to Siem Reap via Kompong Thom Province along road stop to visit bridge of Nagas at Kampong Kdei.

Arrive Siem Reap and lunch at local restaurant

After lunch you will check in the hotel before start to visit.

In the afternoon you first visit the jungle-clad Ta Prohm, made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Tomb Raider’. Later you visit magnificent Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious building until sunset.

Day 5: SIEM REAP – TEMPLES TOUR (B/L/D)

This morning you will have a cooking class arrange by Angkor village resort. They will bring you to local market by Tuk Tuk to buy ingredient than go to the restaurant at Angkor village to cook and you can taste your food as your lunch.

In the afternoon you visit the impressive Royal City of Angkor Thom by motorbike (You have your own driver and you have to sit behind the driver), where you will find the Bayon, a temple famed for its many gigantic carved faces smiling beguilingly down at you. You will also visit other important sites in this immense walled city, including the pyramid of Baphuon, Phimeanakas, and the royal viewing stands known as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Day 6: SIEM REAP - DEPARTURE (B/L/-)

This morning you head 30km north to visit the captivating and beautiful temple of Banteay Srei or ‘Fortress of the Women’. The journey allows you to experience the beautiful Cambodian countryside as you pass through small typical villages, on-route you will be visiting Banteay Samre. Banteay Srei is an elaborately decorated temple, embellished with floral motifs and scenes from the Ramayana, all carved from pink sandstone. It is said the carvings must have been done by women as the detail is too fine for the hands of a man.

After lunch you go visit Artisans d’Angkor, an interesting boutique workshop where you can observe young Cambodians learning traditional Khmer handicraft techniques, such as stone & wood carving, and lacquering & gilding.

Rest of the day is free at your own leisure till transfer to airport for your onward flight.
